Scrapaganza!!!!

Hello everyone---

I just wanted to let you know that the 2nd annual scrapaganza for Relay for Life was a huge success raising over $1000.00. It was a really fun day that went by way too quickly. If you would like more information about Jana's future crops please feel free to email me and I will get you on her mailing list. I know she's planning again for June!!!!

I want to thank everyone who attended and donated to this worthy cause. I also want to give Jana a big THANK YOU for all the hard work she puts in on this event. There is alot of planning that has to take place to make this event run so smoothly.

Sneak Peak

Scrapaganza 2

Hey girls I just thought I would share the details of the next scrapaganza that my sister in law is holding to benefit a local High School student who was seriously injured in a sporting accident. His medical costs are mounting. So here are the details.

WHEN: June 7th 2008 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

WHERE: Dallas High School

COST: $25.00 if you preregister or $30.00 at the door

WHAT: 8 hours to work on your scrapbooks or crafts. There will be local vendors to get ideas from and to purchase products from. There will be great goodie bags for ALL attendees, and great raffle items. Pizza, soda and treats are included in the cost. Even an ice cream social.

Stamp Camp Pictures

Hi ladies I just thought I would post a few more pictures of my stamp camp projects. The scrapbook tin was so fun and easy. It took longer to choose the photos than create the tin. The first photo is of the outside of the tin. I used stickles on the butterfly and the word enjoy. I used paper from Stampin' Up! It is called Afternoon Tea. All the tins at my stamp camp will vary because I have an assortment of paper for you to choose from. The following photos are of the tin open. Remember if you know my mother in law, mums the word on this gift. Thanks.

I will post photos of the cards we are going to make later. I need to take some more close up photos of the cards. I also have a boy breathing down my neck to play on Club penguin so I must go.

I check out the boards and respond to a few, "We're so bored!!," moan the children, "What can we do?!!" I tell them to stop, please do not whine. Geeez...can't they see their mother is busy online??!!The grumbling continues as they wander about

Cook Book

Hey all I am trying to help out our school playground fund by selling the cookbooks we made last year. We still have quite a few left. The cook book has 383 wonderful recipes in it. I should know I typed most of them. My favorite is for Almond Roca. That is my speciality. There is also a great recipe called O'Henry bars. Birthday Bash

Hi ladies I promised that I would post a sneak peek for my birthday bash stamp camp. I love this card. I think it might be a great Mother's day card. It uses some of Stampin Up!'s great designer series paper and of course I blinged it up at bit. I think it is just beautiful and I know any mom would love to get this pretty card in the mail. I might post a couple more cards in the next few days to get you all excited about the upcoming camp. I am sorry the picture is a little blurry. My scanner has trouble with these bumpier cards. Hi all I just thought I would do a quick post to thank everyone who attended the Scrapaganza my sister in law Jana Fogg held this last Saturday. It was a fundraiser for the Relay for Life. It was a huge success. I met a bunch of wonderful new stamping friends. We are hoping to do it again in the fall, maybe even in the early summer.

I have a few cards to show you that I forgot to display at the scrapaganza. They were made with the True Friend set out of the Spring/Summer catalog. I hope you enjoy them.

Scrapbook Convention

Oh my sister in law and I are heading off the scrapbook convention in Portland OR. tomorrow.It is an annual tradition and I just can't wait we have been talking about it for days. OK I will be honest more like months. No I am not joking. I had a babysitter lined up three months ago.

Oh it's like Christmas for us scrapbookers. Everything imaginable can be found here. I am so excited I just can barely sit still. I just want to put the kids to bed now so tomorrow will come sooner. ( It's only 1:15 in the afternoon. ). Well I must go pack my lunch and make a check list for tomorrow. I just thought I would check in and say Hi.

Hi sorry I haven't been posting lately. I have been busy. My wonderful Grandma passed away a few weeks ago and I have been busy dealing with some of the details of that. She lived to be nearly 96 and went very peacefully in her sleep. Her passing has taught me the true importance of scrapbooking and journaling in those books.

I often asked her is she had any photos of her as a child or of her family. She would just dismiss it and say " Honey we barely had money for shoes, we certainly didn't have money for pictures." However after she passed I discovered quite a treasure trove of photos in an old cardboard box (gasp!!!). Luckily the bulk of them were in incredible shape. But as the old saying goes "A picture is worth a thousand words" well that only applies if you know a bit about the photo. Grandma left me small clues by writing a bit on some of the photos. So I have managed to piece together some of her history. History I wish she would have shared when she was alive.

This is my first attempt at digital scrapbooking so the pages were just templates off of smilebox.com. Some of my scans aren't great but I know my siblings and cousins wanted to see some of the great photos. I will try to make a few more pages in a few days. The photos that I used were some of my favorites. It is truely amazing the shape they are in. I guess she must have found the only archivally safe cardboard box available.:) I hope you enjoy looking at them. Thanks.

One Sheet Wonder

Ok I don't know what I did wrong but I am going to try again to post some pictures of cards I made. I sort of CASED them from someone on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ check out the website, it's great.

Yeah me I did it! Not being very computer skilled I still managed to upload some of the cards. I will load some more later. The Direct TV guy just called and he is on his way to install our DVR. I was totally shamed into getting this thing when a friends 3 year old looked at me like I was an idiot when I couldn't "rewind " clifford the other day. She couldn't understand why my TV didn't have a rewind button. So here I am a week later getting a rewind button. My husband is very excited because now he can catch all the NBA season even though he's at work.

Hi I just thought I should check in and say I really do want to do this blog thing, life has just been crazy. Soccer is finally (almost) over. One more Saturday and then we get a break. Then basketball starts. We have been busy with lots of other things too. Colton and Katie just celebrated birthdays. I plan on posting my invite pics soon. It's hard to believe the big guy is already 11! WOW it sure flys by. Like the Kenny Chesney song "Don't blink". It is so true.

So now I feel I have atleast said something on my blog. I will try to post again soon. Thanks for checking it out.

I just wanted to write about the wonderful deal I got for our school yesterday. I don't know if any of you are familiar with Box tops but they are a wonderful and easy source of money for your childrens school. You get ten cents for everyone you collect. I know that that doesn't sound like much but let me tell you about my shopping trip yesterday. It was just the usual trip to the super Wal-Mart for groceries. I didn't buy anything unusual, just the normal stuff. So when I got home I started counting the Box Tops as I put everything away. At this time of year (back to school) they often put bonus Box Tops on items, so I was on the lookout for products with extras. When I was all done I had 60 Box Tops! That's $6.00 of free money for our school. It would have just been recycling. Then K-mart was running a promo for additional 70 Box Tops if you purchased 10 products with Box Tops. So that was an additional $7.00. I collected $13.00 for our school just grocery shopping yesterday. I know it might not sound like a lot but if you multipy it by all the kids in our school it could add up to close to $5000.00. Hi I am new to this whole blogging thing. I don't really know what to do with this or what to write. I am a stay at home mom of three. One boy who is growing up too fast and two girls. My oldest daughter started first grade today. It was strange not to have her around today. My son is in the 5 th grade. Our youngest was very lost without them today. I was canning peaches and pears so she had no one to play with. She took her nap with out any fuss. It was like she knew that when she got up she would have her playmates back. I guess I will write more about this later. Right now I have to get dinner ready because they have soccer practice in an hour. Thanks for looking.
